New Study Series: Distinctives Of Reformed Churches

North Greenville Church is beginning the first in a new, two-part study series entitled, “Distinctives of Being A Member of a Reformed and Presbyterian Church.” The first of 13 weekly lessons will be Wednesday, March 5, at 6:00 pm and repeated Thursday, March 6 at 2:00 pm in the fellowship hall of North Greenville Church, 2120 Roe Ford Rd. in Travelers Rest.

Part 1 of the series will address such topics as:

  • What does Reformed mean?
  • In the Reformed view, what is a Christian?
  • What are the covenants?
  • What are the “Five Solas” of the Reformation?
  • What are the Doctrines of Grace?
  • What are the Reformed sacraments?
  • Why do Reformed churches hold to certain approaches to church government and worship?

Each lesson will have a 35-minute teaching time, followed by a 10-15-minute Q&A. Handouts will be provided for each lesson. An annotated bibliography will be available for aiding further study.

What’s in it for you?

Maybe you wonder where contemporary evangelicalism has failed to offer answers to the challenges of modern life and culture. Maybe you have a deep-seated aversion to Reformed theology, Calvinism, election, presbyterianism, etc. Maybe you wonder if the faith of our fathers, if restored, would bring revivals of Christian virtues and institutions, such as marriage, the family and peace with God. If so, this may be a series for you to check out. You will receive a warm welcome!
