Q. 90. How is the Word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to salvation?
 A. That the Word may become effectual to salvation, we must attend thereunto with diligence, preparation, and prayer; receive it with faith and love, lay it up in our hearts, and practice it in our lives.

The Works We Will Do:  “The works the church performs after Christ’s ascension are greater because they are works done in the new era that was breaking in under Jesus’ ministry but which arrived more fully in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.”  (August 10, page 40).
