North Greenville Church
In the Bible, we find two kinds of famines: food and spirituality. In 2 Kings, we find a famine in the value of human life. Elisha was blamed for a food famine and was brought in to answer for it. He foresaw that the very next day, food would be cheap, but that the messenger would not live to see it. The question for us here is, "Will we seek to do what God wants?" Stated another way, "Will we obey when His word is clear?" The scene changes to a group of lepers outside the city gate. There was nothing in the city for them to beg for, so they had nothing to lose by going to the besieging Syrians. What they found was God's mercy. The Syrians had fled in fear of God's army, leaving all their food and wealth behind. After reveling a while in their good fortune, God brought a moment of conscience to the lepers. They told the king, who suspected a Syrian trap and sent two messengers out on what he supposed would be a suicide mission. God showed mercy to a wicked king and gave the lepers the words of life. We see here that God uses sinners in bringing the words of life. The woman at the well in Sychar got the good news from Jesus and believed. Back in town, she was not a welcome messenger, whose words were always suspect. Yet, shortly many believed her testimony of the good news. Like the woman at the well, we have good news to tell, and we exhort those we meet to come and check it out. We hold to the free proclamation of the Gospel, which God commands to be heard by everyone. The Gospel of Grace is a free gift from God. Christ the cornerstone can be a firm foundation to those who believe, or a crusher to those who don't. God is sovereign in salvation. ... See MoreSee Less

Find Peace With God

To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest
To all who mourn and long for comfort
To all who struggle and desire victory
To all who sin and need a Savior
To all who are strangers and want fellowship
To all who hunger and thirst after righteousness
And to all who will come
This church opens wide her doors
And offers welcome
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
