Come to North Greenville Church at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, during Easter Week, for a worship service of preaching, scripture reading, prayer and congregational singing. Led by the Rev. David Huffman, we will remember Jesus’ ministry in the upper room during Passover Week, who ushered in the new commandment of remission of sins in His blood shed on the cross. Our observance of the Lord’s Supper during the service is open to all trusting in Christ alone for their salvation, and who are members in good standing in a Bible-believing church. The post Maundy Thursday Service: March 17 first appeared on North Greenville Church. ... Why did God wait so long to reveal the doctrine of the Trinity, that He is One God subsisting in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit?B. B. Warfield (1851-1921) answered this question in the following way:"The Old Testament may be likened to a chamber richly furnished but dimly lighted; the introduction of light brings into it nothing which was not in it before; but it brings out into clearer view much of what is in it but was only dimly or even not at all perceived before."The mystery of the Trinity is not revealed in the Old Testament; but the mystery of the Trinity underlies the Old Testament revelation, and here and there almost comes into view."Thus the Old Testament revelation of God is not corrected by the fuller revelation that follows it, but only perfected, extended and enlarged." -“The Biblical Doctrine of the Trinity,” in Biblical Doctrines.See the linked video for a five minute answer to this question. ... If we had the light of the Trinity at the beginning of the human race, we would not have yet been able to take it in.

The second lesson, “Distinctives of North Greenville Church,” part of North Greenville Church’s study series, will be presented Wednesday, March 13, at 6:00 pm and repeated Thursday, March 14 at 2:00 pm in the church fellowship hall, 2120 Roe Ford Rd. in Travelers Rest. What guides the worship and work of North Greenville Church? Is it some system contained in the Bible? Is it tradition? Is it the pastor alone, or the preferences of the members? The teacher is the Rev. David Huffman, presenting a 35-minute teaching time, followed by a 10-15-minute Q&A. Handouts will be provided. An annotated bibliography will be available for aiding further study. What’s in it for you?Where do you find answers to the challenges of modern life and culture? Could it be that the faith of our fathers, if restored, would bring revivals of Christian virtues and institutions, such as marriage, the family and peace with God. Let’s see how–this may be a series for you to check out. You will receive a warm welcome! The post Distinctives Of Reformed Churches Study Series: Part 1, Lesson 2 first appeared on North Greenville Church. ... See MoreSee Less

North Greenville Church is beginning the first in a new, two-part study series entitled, “Distinctives of Being A Member of a Reformed and Presbyterian Church.” The first session will be Wednesday, March 5, at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm in the fellowship hall of North Greenville Church, 2120 Roe Ford Rd. in Travelers Rest.Part 1 of the series will address such topics as:What does Reformed mean?In the Reformed view, what is a Christian? What are the covenants? What are the “Five Solas” of the Reformation? What are the Doctrines of Grace? What are the Reformed sacraments? Why do Reformed churches hold to certain approaches to church government and worship? Each lesson will have a 35-minute teaching time, followed by a 10-15-minute Q&A. Handouts will be provided for each lesson. An annotated bibliography will be available for aiding further study. What’s in it for you?Maybe you wonder where contemporary evangelicalism has failed to offer answers to the challenges of modern life and culture. Maybe you have a deep-seated aversion to Reformed theology, Calvinism, election, presbyterianism, etc. Maybe you wonder if the faith of our fathers, if restored, would bring revivals of Christian virtues and institutions, such as marriage, the family and peace with God. If so, this may be a series for you to check out. You will receive a warm welcome! The post New Study Series: Distinctives Of Reformed Churches first appeared on North Greenville Church. ... Find Peace With God

To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest
To all who mourn and long for comfort
To all who struggle and desire victory
To all who sin and need a Savior
To all who are strangers and want fellowship
To all who hunger and thirst after righteousness
And to all who will come
This church opens wide her doors
And offers welcome
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
