To The Glory Of God Alone (Romans 11:33-36)

Rev. William L. BarronRev. William L. Barron, March 12, 2017
Part of the The Five Solas Of The Reformation series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

We can never know enough about God. We think too much of ourselves. God is 100% sovereign about both good things and tragedies. We tend to want God's blessings but not His lordship. All of the solas are actions of God; they point to what God has done. The world is not about us; it is about Christ. It was created by Him, through Him and for Him. Thinking about the triune God expands our minds. A good challenge for us--rethinking God. Our prayer should be, "Let me live this day glorifying You."

Romans 11:33–36 (Listen)

33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

34   “For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
35   “Or who has given a gift to him
    that he might be repaid?”

36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
