Catechism Corner

Q. 79. May not true believers, by reason of their imperfections, and the many temptations and sins they are overtaken with, fall away from the state of grace?
True believers, by reason of the unchangeable love of God, and his decree and covenant to give them perseverance, their inseparable union with Christ, his continual intercession for them, and the Spirit and seed of God abiding in them, can neither totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace, but are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

Tabletalk Moment

Samson Breaks His Vow: Our sin does not thwart God’s ability to work our His good plan, but it is better for us if He works out His plan through our obedience, not our misdeeds. (Tabletalk Magazine, March 5, page 39).

Short Items

Sunday School: This Sunday at 9:30am in the Camellia Room, we skip ahead to Ezra 7, following the completion of the second temple and its rededication. Dr. Iain Duguid’s lesson in the Adult Quarterly is titled, “Reforming The Community.” In it we will see the public commitment of the community to live in obedience under the law of God as administered by Ezra.
