Bob Shearer To Preach This Sunday
Dr. Bob Shearer, noted pastor and evangelist, will exhort our congregation this Sunday. In recent sermons, he has been encouraging us to carry our disciple’s cross into the marketplace in our witness for Christ.
Wednesday Bible Study To Complete Ephesians In Next Two Weeks
We’re looking in Chapter 6 at confronting spiritual battles clothed in the whole armor of God, plus a summation of the significance of the entire epistle in our lives. Join us at 7:00 on Wednesday at The Woodlands Orchid Room as Billy Barron opens the Word of God to us.
Short Items:
Sunday School: We are studying the ARPC’ Fall 2016 Adult Quarterly on I and II Samuel, “The Triumph Of God’s Anointed.” This Sunday we will study I Samuel 17: 1-11, 19-23 and 48-58, which is the central theme lesson of the quarterly, “The Triumph Of God’s Anointed,” looking at God’s equipping of humble, young David by the Holy Spirit to defeat Goliath and grow in stature among the people of Israel.
Greenville ARP Women’s Retreat: NGC ladies are invited to this event, to be held on November 11-12, at Bonclarken. Kay Burklin will be the speaker. The title of her presentation is “Which Part of the Cup is Yours? Finding God’s heart for the refugee and the lost, and your part in that story.” Jamie Pettett, Sarah Russo, and Elinor Griffin will also be speaking about their work globally and locally with the refugee situation. Cost for the retreat is $12 for an overnight stay or $8 for the day. Deadline to register is October 30. Contact Don Woodard if you are interested in attending.
