NGC Begins Worship At Permanent Location

2120 Roe Ford Front Quarter

The North Greenville Church building at 2120 Roe Ford Rd. has facilities to host a variety of ministry activities, including a sanctuary, fellowship hall and classrooms on two levels.

After a pilgrimage of nearly 6 years, North Greenville Church will hold its initial worship service November 7 at its permanent location. The building is located at 2120 Roe Ford Rd., Greenville SC 29617, which is near the Green Valley community in Travelers Rest. We are deeply grateful for God’s providence in making this possible for a small, independent congregation, beginning with no support, apart from the dedicated work of our pastor and friends from several churches and presbyteries. Additionally, we are deeply grateful to our hosts over this formative time, The Woodlands at Furman and Westwood Baptist Church. As others have said at other times, this move is not the beginning of the end; rather it is the end of the beginning. We look forward to what God is doing through this small part of the Body of Christ. We invite you to join us for Sunday School at 9:30 and worship at 10:30. Soli Deo gloria–to God be the glory!

Hello, Why haven’t you affiliated with a denomination? Where do appeals go? Who provides governance outside the local church? Thank you.

Hello, Mauvianne; thank you for your comment and question. We were formerly a mission church of the ARPC. In a narrow vote, Second Presbytery closed us down for being too small. Convinced that we were a true church, a group of 17 covenanted to continue independently, trusting in God’s providence. We have grown gradually since that time. Our first mission developer continued shepherding us as a sort of stated supply, and was subsequently approved by Second Presbytery to labor out of bounds. We subsequently called him as our pastor. Our former provisional elders stayed with us until we organized and elected our own session. We are an LLC and have detailed By-Laws. We try to be as connectional as we can be. In fact, we have other teaching elders and their families worshiping with us. It is our intention to unite with a presbytery of a confessional Reformed denomination in the near future. If you are near by, we invite you to worship with us and hear our witness. You might also listen to some of our recorded sermons made available on this site. May the Lord bless you.
